Why PLA Basic?
- Most beginner-friendly filament — forgiving of setting errors
- Excellent surface finish and vibrant color options
- Low warping — no heated enclosure needed
- Biodegradable and low-odor printing
- Widest color palette available from Bambu Lab
- RFID-tagged for automatic AMS detection
Nozzle Size — Medium Print
✓ Matches your selection
0.4mm standard nozzle — best all-around for PLA
Support Material
Support for PLA (Bambu Lab)
Same as model (PLA)
Only the 2-3 interface layers touching the model use dedicated support filament — the bulk support uses your model material.
Use PLA as bulk support and Bambu's breakaway material only at the interface layers touching the model. Saves filament and prints faster while maintaining clean separation.
Filament Drying Guide
50°C for 4-6h
● Low priority — PLA absorbs moisture slowly
Expert Tips
- • PLA prints best with 100% part cooling fan after the first layer.
- • Stock Bambu profiles are well-tuned — minimal tweaking needed.
- • For dimensional accuracy, calibrate flow rate with a single-wall cube.
Clean build plate with IPA (isopropyl alcohol)
Oil, dust, and residue from previous prints reduce adhesion. Wipe with IPA before every print for consistent first-layer quality.
Verify correct build plate type is selected in slicer
Using the wrong build plate profile causes incorrect Z-offset and temperature. Match slicer setting to the physical plate installed.
Active cooling will manage chamber temperature automatically
Your printer has an auxiliary fan that actively cools the chamber for PLA. No need to open the door — the firmware regulates airflow automatically for optimal part cooling.
Check filament spool for tangles before loading
A tangled spool can cause mid-print filament jams or AMS errors. Visually inspect and ensure the filament unwinds freely before starting.
